Having worked as part of the Gynaecology and Obstetrics service in the University hospital and maternity hospital Limerick, Dr Jason McMahon obtained a diploma in obstetrics and women’s health (DOWH) in 2005, frequently providing cover in the local family planning clinic in Limerick.
Dr. Boomsma has a special interest in Women’s Health completing the Diploma in Obstetrics and Women’s Health with the Royal College of Physicians in 2013 and holds a Certificate in Contraception and Long Acting Reversible Contraception with the ICGP.’
Our service is to help the individual find the best contraception that suits her according to preference, suitability and family planning needs.
Insertion and removal of Intra Uterine Coils (Mirena, Jaydes and Copper) and Sub dermal Contraception (Implanon) are an important part of the service provided.
An appointment with a female GP to avail of this service can be arranged on request.
We are happy to council and investigate couples experiencing fertility difficulties in cooperation with the local Gynaecologists and fertility clinics. Much information can be gathered, advice and treatment given, excluding the need for specialist referral.
